We approach all our designs from a green perspective; we utilize local, renewable and recyclable (or recycled) materials and design with a passive solar approach to maximize efficiencies while integrating more active systems where appropriate. Principal Tracy Stone has been involved with sustainable design since 1982. She is a member of the US Green Building Council, the AIA Committee on the Environment, and teaches sustainable design at Art Center College in Pasadena and at Woodbury University. Interior Designers
|
Tranquil Spaces founder Shannon Del Vecchio began her design career as a feng shui expert specializing in creating healthy home and office environments. She began using and specifying non-toxic finish materials, fabrics and paints nearly ten years ago with clients who suffered from environmental illnesses. Today, approximately 80% of her projects involve a strong green directive (both residential and commercial). Shannon has designed a number of “deep green” kitchens and baths, and has assisted dozens of clients in creating more efficient floorplans, so they can enjoy luxurious spaces for living and working without adding square footage. One of Shannon’s residential projects was selected for the Marin Green Home Tour in May of 2007, and she is currently working on a commercial project in the San Francisco Bay Area that is on target to receive a LEED rating of platinum in 2008.
