Maggie Wood Design has completed over a dozen green home projects. Our first green home consulting project was completed in 2003, and today we work on a diverse set of projects, ranging from small renovations and interiors, to full-scale home additions and new construction.
Maggie Wood, founder of Maggie Wood Design, holds an undergraduate degree in Architecture from Smith College and a Master of Science in Design from the University of Massachusetts, where she concentrated in sustainable design.
Maggie is a LEED Accredited Professional and has a research background in environmental health and the built environment.

We participate as energy compliance subconsultants to architects, builders, and homeowners. We are currently wrapping up our largest LEED project for the Camden Multi-Purpose Community Center in San Jose, a 20,000+ sq. ft., three-building project started in 2002.

We have tested over fifty homes and completed ratings assessments and consultations for a dozen clients. Our typical report length is 15 pages, and consultations usually take 1-2 hours. Founder Donn Davy is a Certified Green Points Rater and Certified Green Building Professional (Build It Green). He is Certified by California Building Performance Contractors Association and has completed Sonoma State University’s Green Building Certification program. All staff are accredited, and we are members of the US Green Building Council and Sustainable Novato.

Graham Irwin has been working in the construction industry as a carpenter, general contractor and building designer since 1991. He relocated to the Bay area in 2001 and has built a successful design and consulting practice while restoring his own home, a 1922 California Bungalow. Dedicated to making the construction process accessible to the public, Graham teaches popular Community Extension classes on building permits, green building, remodeling and construction. He is an NCBDC Certified Professional Building Designer, a Professional Member of the American Institute of Building Design® and a licensed general contractor. A committed environmentalist, Graham is a member of Architects, Designers and Planners for Social Responsibility, The US Green Building Council and Build It Green, and is a Certified Green Building Professional.

As a certified Bau-Biologist and Environmental Consultant since 1989, Mary Cordaro has worked with many hundreds of clients from around the country, on everything from simple paint choices to full scale, new construction and major remodeling specifications. Her first major residential new construction project was completed in 1991, when she consulted on both troubleshooting and solving contaminant problems, as well as specifying new building and interior materials. In addition to specifying healthy, ecological materials and systems, she has also worked with a large base of homeowners who have hired her to trouble shoot and solve indoor contaminant problems, resulting from and including moisture and mold, chemicals, and electromagnetic fields.

As an architect with over 13 years of experience, Ms. Livingston has worked on projects from small to large, from single family residential to urban, commercial, and community public projects. Ms. Livingston is active in the green building community and affiliated with the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Architects Designers and Planners for Social Responsibility (ADPSR) and the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
