This is one of a number of loveseat styles made by this company (check their website). All of their products are made with organic cotton fabrics (with no sizing or chemical finishes) over non-synthetic padding (containing no foam, vinyl, or formaldehyde) on a hardwood (maple) frame fabricated with formaldehyde-free low VOC glues. They also have a process called Safewash that they utilize to detoxify "typical" upholstery fabrics, in case you want to specify something different from what they carry.
They claim that their furniture can be tolerated by chemically sensitive people, but for those who are truly chemically sensitive it might be a good idea to ask for sample materials to verify that you can tolerate them.

This table, like the company's other products, is fabricated of FSC plywood covered by a hardwood veneer. Their finishes are cured with a catalyzed process (as opposed to using solvents), which they claim emits fewer VOCs into the atmosphere. Some of their hardwood veneers are FSC certified. Others are "under-utilized" tropical hardwood species, that is, wood species that normally are destroyed and/ or burned during the harvest of the more highly "marketed" species (such as mahogany and rosewood). They carry many wood species, so ask about the ones you are thinking of purchasing. For those who are chemically sensitive, note that the FSC plywood glues contain some formaldehyde.

This company is dedicated to using FSC certified sustainably harvested woods. Better than that, the products are absolutely beautiful and heirloom quality, which is the greenest thing of all - long-term appreciation and reverence for what nature has made, and artisans have carefully crafted into something useful that will be appreciated for generations to come.

At last, a New York based cabinet manufacturer dedicated to high-end green cabinetry! Breathe Easy, a line of green cabinetry from Greenway Cabinetry, Inc., offers a range of green options to suit any budget for kitchens, bathrooms and other custom cabinetry applications.
Breathe Easy cabinet boxes are made from either solid wood, FSC Certified "green plywood", or an agricultural wheatboard (all certified formaldehyde free), and solid bamboo or wood doors made from FSC Certified woods. Door finishes are available in a range of standard low or no VOC formulations, and they can do custom work, such as milk paint finishes. All manufacturing takes place at their facility on the Long Island/Queens border, so they’re centrally located for projects within the tri-state area, which keeps transportation costs (and environmental costs) down!

What makes this product green? Everything. The company uses FSC woods, non-toxic, no-VOC paint, no adhesives (only mechanical fasteners - screws). Children are like canaries in a coal mine. They are small and sensitive to chemicals and toxins, and deserve to be protected, because they are our future. When we show we care for their health, they carry that forward into future generations. That's how the world becomes a better place.
The pieces are one-of-a-kind, heirloom quality, and that's as green as it gets. They will be passed down proudly for generations and appreciated by many.
In a world over-full of cheap, production, toxic children's furniture, this is a refreshing option.

The Joinery uses Collins Wood FSC Certified wood in their furniture construction. The company vigorously encourages and facilitates recycling. The Joinery uses recycled and/or reusable materials extensively in day-to-day operations, and 100 percent of energy use comes from wind power purchased through Renewable Northwest Project. The Joinery uses a proprietary formula that's basically an oil-based finish, with tung, linseed and other plant oils. Some chemically sensitive folks may have trouble with the finish, but much of the outgassing is complete by the time the furniture gets to the home.
