Personal Profile

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Emory University and a Master of Arts in Forestry from Duke University. My education focused on environmental studies and plant physiology. Before moving to California in 1991, I was a general contractor in the Atlanta, Georgia area for several years. I have been with Environmental Inspections and Solutions, Inc. since 2001.

A strong science background and construction experience give me the skills and understanding needed to conduct inspections and access indoor environmental problems. I approach building investigations from the perspective of Building Science. Although EIS, Inc. offers a wide range of microbial, chemical and particle testing, an understanding of the conditions that created the problem, its source, and the transport mechanisms involved is crucial to determining the dynamics of the problem. In this effort, a knowledge of physics is essential. I bring together analysis of moisture intrusion, heating and ventilation systems, and building construction practices and protocols to gain a complete picture of the environment. This knowledge is critical for prescribing remediation and solutions to the conditions.

I am a Registered Environmental Assessor with the State of California (REA), a Certified Indoor Air Quality Professional (CIAQP), a Council-certified Mold Remediation Supervisor (CMRS), a Council-certified Indoor Environmental Consultant (CIEC), a Council-certified Microbial Consultant (CMC) and an active member of the Indoor Air Quality Association, Inc.
