What makes this product green? Everything. The company uses FSC woods, non-toxic, no-VOC paint, no adhesives (only mechanical fasteners - screws). Children are like canaries in a coal mine. They are small and sensitive to chemicals and toxins, and deserve to be protected, because they are our future. When we show we care for their health, they carry that forward into future generations. That's how the world becomes a better place.
The pieces are one-of-a-kind, heirloom quality, and that's as green as it gets. They will be passed down proudly for generations and appreciated by many.
In a world over-full of cheap, production, toxic children's furniture, this is a refreshing option.

"Exquisite children's furniture" by

Lilipad Studio's furniture is simply magical. My five-year-old daughter does practically everything at her table--has lunch, does art projects, plays card games with friends. Sometimes she even insists on having dinner at her table sitting next to us! There is such a wonderful warm and original quality to this furniture that it speaks to children, inviting them to come and sit, play and create.
If you turn the pieces over, each is hand stamped in tiny block letters with a word: one of my daughter's chair says" d-r-e-a-m" and the other says "t-r-u-s-t." These are whispers that seem to be felt by all children who sit in them...
The furniture would be appropriate for boys as well as girls and fits children of all sizes-- small toddlers up to my daughter's 9-year old cousin use ours. The chairs and table are very sturdy and the ones that I chose are painted in warm colors--pumpkin orange, deep eggplant purple, olive green and gold. Despite the heavy use our furniture has gotten, the clear protective sealant (a green non-toxic product) that covers the design incredibly has not even been scratched.
I cannot say enough about Lilipad's design and quality. I will keep this furniture in my living space long after my daughter grows out of it because of its exquisite beauty and timeless spirit, and will pass it on knowing that the joy that it has brought my family it will bring to others for many years to come.

Lilipad Studio is a small company nestled in the gorgeous mountain community of Hailey, a small hip town just outside the famous skier’s paradise of Sun Valley, Idaho.
Laura Higdon, owner and creator of Lilipad Studio is an artist and mother of two, Kyra 13 and Everett 10. In a large studio adjacent to her home, she works together with local artists and artisans creating the essential pieces of furniture for small children: table and chair sets and stepstools.
Laura’s talent to create Lilipad Studio evolved from a combination of her divine path of motherhood and the culmination of her artistic experiences working as a graphic designer, a painter of custom hand painted murals and furniture, and for the past 6 years as an Interior Designer.
During this time, while combing design centers and furniture stores across the country for her clients, Laura began recognizing that the very few pieces of really imaginative, high quality furniture she could find for children, existed primarily in antique stores - usually crafted by a loving family member from a past generation.
Laura missed the hands-on creativity of being a painter. She also knew that she and other like-minded parents and individuals were looking for, among other things, furniture options made from ecologically and ethically viable sources. With these two pieces, combined with her talent and a new awareness of the need for soulful children’s furniture, she put her passions into action and began the creation of Lilipad Studio.
One year later, home based and ready for the teenage years, she has designed the only line of totally green, hand crafted, hand painted furniture for kids.
